Commands-DeleteFromActiveDirectory-icon Delete from Active Directory

Allows deletion of selected items from the Active Directory database and related data from the file system.

The deletion is immediate and irreversible, so after this command is executed the items can no longer be recovered.

 

NOTE: Using this command is not recommended for planned user deletion, such as for turnover reasons or when employees leave the company. Under these conditions it is necessary to first notify users of the deletion of accounts and/or their personal data and track the processes. To do this, it is recommended to prepare an appropriate Active Directory Exit Strategy. This can be done through the ADOne Agent application.

 

Projects of type Users

If the open project is of type Users, the following deletion options are available.

 

 

Commands-DeleteFromActiveDirectory-User

Users

Delete selected users from the Active Directory database, selected records on the grid that have not yet been stored in AD are also deleted. If you chose the option Also delete empty organizational units, the algorithm also deletes any organizational units that no longer contain elements after the deletion process.

Home Folders and file system data

Permanently deletes the home directory or other data folders that contain the user's personal data.

The command can be used if the users' home directories are centralized in a File server by setting a network path in the homeDirectory attribute, or if other attributes attached to a Data Folder rule have been set.

If you have chosen Also delete empty container folders, when the deletion of user folders is complete, the parent folders on the disk that do not contain items after the deletion process are also deleted.

Shortcuts to home folders

Delete Shortcuts to home directories. The command can be used only if users' home directories are centralized in a File server by setting a network path in the homeDirectory attribute and if the project is configured to create a Shortcut to Home folders structure. If you have chosen Also delete empty container folders, when the shortcuts are deleted, the parent folders on the disk that do not contain items after the deletion process are also deleted.

 

Projects of type Groups

If the open project is of type Groups, the following deletion options are available.

Groups

Delete selected groups from the Active Directory database, selected records on the grid that have not yet been stored in AD are also deleted. If you chose the option Also delete empty organizational units, the algorithm also deletes any organizational units that no longer contain elements after the deletion process.

File system data folders

Permanently deletes data folders associated with groups from the disk. Only if attributes attached to a Data Folder rule have been set. If you have chosen Also delete empty container folders, when the deletion of group folders is complete, the parent folders on the disk that do not contain items after the deletion process are also deleted.

Public Folders

Permanently deletes Public Folders associated with groups from the disk.

The command can be used only if the project is configured to create or update Public Folders.

If you chose Also delete empty container folders, when the deletion of public folders is complete, the parent folders on the disk that do not contain items after the deletion process are also deleted.
